This service is intended for organizations that are about to enter the planning stages of an Identity Management or security-related initiative. It is offered as a starting point to help organizations begin to address the prerequisites and dependencies for delivering a comprehensive IdM solution and to determine whether they're ready to embark on such an initiative. It will help them in the pre-planning phases of their IdM project and outline specific problem areas as they begin to 'shore up' their environment and infrastructure in support of IdM.
The overall goal of the Identity Readiness Assessment is to gauge an organization's maturity level with respect to implementing an Identity Management solution. The premise behind the assessment is to capture and understand the current environment with respect to Identity and Security and begin to highlight areas where challenges may arise during implementation. It is also intended to serve as a preliminary 'Analysis and Planning' opportunity to capture the high-level requirements for an Identity solution, based upon the organization's vision, goals and long-term strategy. It will provide a brief glimpse into what their Identity solution might look like, given the information gathered throughout the engagement. GoalsThe specific goals of the workshop are to: Understand the Business Challenge
Outline the Possibilities
Define a Plan of Action
OutcomeThe outcome of the Assessment will deliver a readiness classification document representing the anticipated level of difficulty of implementation from an as-is perspective. The document will highlight major obstacles impacting implementation such as: any organizational or administrative concerns, possible technical issues, and existing gaps in current processes, infrastructure, resources and other areas that could pose potential problems during delivery. It will address general areas for work and improvement in preparation for an Identity solution and show how addressing these key issues would dramatically reduce the overall risk, cost and delivery schedule for any future Identity-related efforts. |
